SPRING BLOOD FOR DCS 2.9

Thanks to John C Flett, EvilBivol-1 and all those behind LOMAC and DCS World.

All credit goes to those behind the original FC2 release and to John C Flett for his adaptation of the campaign to FC3 in 2014. Any bugs, problems or mistakes with this DCS 2.9 adaptation are entirely my fault.

TO INSTALL

Copy all the files (SB15XX.miz, Spring-Blood.cmp, and Spring-Blood-Splash.png) into the campaigns folder in your DCS saved games folder. This folder will have a path something like "C:\Users\YourUser\Saved Games\DCS\Missions\Campaigns\en".

If that was done correctly, then the campaign should be available by accessing the "Campaign" option from the DCS main menu, selecting "My Campaigns" from the module list on the left, and selecting "Spring Blood" from the list of campaigns in the middle.

CAMPAIGN NOTES

All missions require you to land safely to complete, or at least being very low and alive over the right airfield at the right time.

I'm a newbie to mission editing. Please report any problems you experience and I will do my best to fix them. I'm open to suggestions for fixes in those cases. I have played through the entire campaign successfully, but you may experience problems I didn't, or DCS updates may break things, especially in mission 8.

I have attempted to stick close to John C Flett's adaptation. However, due to possible DCS bugs and timing issues I have had to make some changes to triggers, flight plans, AI unit loadouts, etc. In one case I had to write some LUA script.

FUTURE PLANS

I will be posting videos of my playthroughs of each mission to YouTube. These are long-form videos with no time acceleration, labels, loadout changes, F10 map checks, etc. They have commentary on the mission briefing and light commentary throughout the playthrough. They are not very entertaining to watch but may be useful if you want to gauge your interest in the campaign or need some help with some mission in particular. You should be able to find my YouTube channel by searching for something like "YouTube FunkySim Spring Blood".

This campaign is (hopefully) completed, but I intend to play DCS for a bunch more years and will support this campaign for the foreseeable future. If you'd like to report any issues, feel free to comment on my YouTube videos or comment on the posting for this campaign on the "DCS User Files" page.

Thanks

FunkySim
